SportCricket CowardiceUnfortunately, Australia is doing pretty badly in the one-dayer on at this present time. I have therefore retreated, as I usually do, to "watching" the cricket via the online score so I do not sully my eyes with video of the carnage. Three cheers for PakistanIt was good to see England lose to Pakistan. Not that I'm at all bitter about the ashes; I prefer to see that as a minor form reversal of both teams. Australia humbled the Windies, the poms had a narrow defeat, like they had narrow victories against the aussies. By foddrick at 2005-11-16 23:45 | cricket | foddrick's blog
Australia back to the top ?Well, Australia certainly did kick butt in the super series. It'll be interesting to see how they go in the test match where the World XI will have a lot more room for individual brilliance. I personally won't be happy until the ashes are back in our keeping, althought this brand of one day cricket will be good to carry to the World Cup 2007. Cowboys--It was always inevitable... Another team that I wanted to win losing. By foddrick at 2005-10-04 10:49 | rugby league | foddrick's blog
Go the CowboysOnce again I fear I am supporting a team that is going to lose. I'd dearly love the Cowboys to win on Sunday, but somehow, I think it not likely. Ironically, Prince, the main playmaker for the Wests Kittens, is an ex-Cowboy. By foddrick at 2005-10-01 11:24 | rugby league | foddrick's blog
IndoctrinationI watched this morning, almost helplessly, as my kids played with an AFL AusKick cdrom. Why is it that we allow that southern sport to come into out state and pollute our youth. Times they are a changingIt looks like the repercussions from Australia's pathetic attempt at an English tour are beginning. Hayden has been chopped from the ODI team, Martyn has been chopped from the test team and it looks like Gillespie and Kasprowicz won't be wearing the baggy green again. It had to happen, and it's good to see a bit of Queensland talent, namely Hopes and Watson getting a chance. By foddrick at 2005-09-20 23:36 | cricket | foddrick's blog
End of the road '05Unsurprising the Broncos were beaten 34-6 by the Wests Tigers on the weekend. Personally, I'm tiring of supporting them, just to have my hopes dashed come September. There's always next year, and then the year after when Gold Coast hit the competition. I don't care if they lose too, all I want is consistency.
