It was hustle and bustle at Regent Park as everyone was preparing to leave this morning.
Somehow, we managed to get the tarago loaded with all of our luggage and still leave room for the human cargo.
Before leaving Hobart, we stopped in to check out the botanical gardens. They were full of colour and beautiful flowers.
Then we set off for tonight's destination of Bronte Park.
On the way we stopped in New Norfolk for lunch. The kids had a good time playing in the three playgrounds that were in the park that we found.
Further along, we stopped at a lookout over some of the hydro-electric power stations.
Finally we arrived at Bronte Park. There was not much to speak of at Bronte Park apart from where we were staying. We discovered that it was created as lodging for the many workers on the hydro scheme. It is now however a mere shadow of its former self. There were a few of the original workers cottages preserved on site.
There was a semi-permanent caravan park adjunct to our accomodation site, which was almost like a shanty town. Obviously most accommodation was weekenders and built very haphazardly. A lot of caravans had a shed built around them.
Dinner was an affair of gargantuan proportions! The rump steak just about hung of the plate in all directions. The children had enormous cheeseburgers and Mum and Dad even just shared a meal. This was definitely our most generously-portioned meal to date.
After dinner we waddled home, eventually put the kids to bed and sat down for a game of cards. Although Christine got off to a quick start, unfortunately her luck faded away at the end and Mum ended up being victorious in the game of frustration.
It was also an evening of gregarious farting with many, many matches burnt to eradicate the aroma.
